To arrange your initial appointment, please let us know what type of therapy you are interested in so we can match you with the right therapist.

Your initial appointment (75-90 mins)
During your initial appointment we will ask you about your current difficulties, your past experiences and what you are hoping to gain from therapy. We will discuss the therapy options we offer and agree together what therapy would be the most likely to help you. We will discuss the number of sessions you will likely need and agree a time and day for your weekly therapy appointments.

If during the initial session, it becomes clear that a type of therapy which we do not currently offer would be more beneficial, we will do our best to signpost you to where you could receive that therapy.

Your weekly therapy session (50 mins)
During these sessions we will start by building a formulation, this is a joint understanding of your current difficulties and what from your past has likely contributed to how you are feeling. Using this formulation as a guide, we will explore ways to help you to cope with and reduce your emotional distress.
Ending therapy
Towards the end of your sessions, we will develop a plan together, this will include what you have found helpful from therapy, and what you may want to keep doing to manage your mood in the long run. We will also discuss, and make a plan for, how you can manage any setbacks or difficult periods that may come up in the future.
